Best Sequences of B-Only Calling in 2001 and 2002.

IDL program rdfit.pro used to read in data from least-squares fits.
IDL program plotbw2 used to make the graphs below.

A search for "B-only calling" was carried out using the B calls scanned automatically, with a matched filter at 16 Hz. Wherever two B calls were separated by a time interval between about 42 and 52 seconds, the spectrograms were inspected for evidence of a sequence of B calls with this characteristic separation.

Sequence #1: October 11 (day 284), 2001, 1:37 to 19:25. This is the best sequence. The first harmonic (the fundamental) is quite weak compared to the third harmonic. The calls have a sort of double- syllable sound, kind of like crying "agua" in Spanish.
Sequence #2: September 24 (day 267), 2001, 16:30 to 21:00. This is the next best sequence. The calling is strongest in the fundamental this time.
Sequence #3: October 21 (day 294), 20:00, to Oct. 22, 6:00, 2001.
Sequence #4: July 25 (day 206), 2002, 1:37 to 19:25. This is the best sequence. The first harmonic (the fundamental) is quite weak compared to the third harmonic. The calls have a sort of double- syllable sound, kind of like crying "agua" in Spanish.
