Timing Accuracy of B-Only Calling

This page shows histograms of the tine interval, for the

On Oct. 11, 2001 (day 284) a long sequence of B-only calling was observed at Pioneer Seamount. Spectrograms are on the web. One previous posting shows results of fitting for central frequency and chirp rate. another shows time series for call intensity, in dB, and the time interval between consecutive calls.
Histograms of time interval for baby B calls, different cuts. Main results: calling interval is 48.5 sec with a standard deviation of 1.0 s; breathing interval is 220 sec with a standard deviation of 50 sec. Histograms of time interval for day 285 A-B calls. Main results: calling interval is 135 sec with a standard deviation of 9 sec; breathing interval is 211 sec with a standard deviation of 25 sec. More results involving timing for all A-B calls.
