Just a reminder: we offer food (mostly from Rainbow) at cost to you, the poor student. So, if you can't pay for it immediately, write yourself an IOU and pin it up on the bulletin board by the toaster. Then, we ask that you pay your IOU's back by the 15th of each month. Better yet, you can drop five bucks in the tin after you get your paycheck and have a running credit. That way, when the late night quantum session needs some fuel, there will be no guilt, no hassel, and everybody's happy!

If you have any requests of the h-bar, write it on the list by the door of room 115 and we will do our best to accomodate.

If you are a physics major, you should have access to room 115 anytime you want. Just talk to Karon (in the main office) about getting yourself a set of keys.

Just an FYI: all TA's, graders, and any other student getting paid by the university are banding together to form a union. So you might be approached by other students who are out garnering support for their cause.

There was a protest in Sacramento on Monday, during which community college and state university students got together to protest the fee hikes incurred by the current administration's proposed budget. Several students from our department went, I'm sure they will tell you all their stories.

PAC t-shirts: Believe it or not, they are going to happen. A vote was held, and the winner for the back design was: you might be a physics major if.... A second vote was held to pick which sayings were the funniest and the winners can be found in the PAC room.

As for the poster contest (for the back wall of the PAC room), the shuttle flying over the earth won. So you can expect to see a pretty picture sometime soon.

Events: sign up!
There was a NASA AMES talk last Thursday 7-9.

There will be a tour of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory on the last Friday of spring break. You must sign up, and bring your ID. Check the bulletin board to the left of the door in the PAC room for more information.

On April 3rd, PAC will be taking a group of 6th graders to the Exploratorium. PAC will cover your entrance fee and lunch. And you get to interact with young people excited about science. Come share your knowledge. ANd then join us after for the Deep Listening Workshop, during which we will learn about sound and listening.

Another trip to Chabot is in the works so stay tuned.

The PAC graduation ceremony will either be on May 28 or 29, at Delancy Street. We will need an approximate head count, so let us know if you're going.

Friendly reminder: we are getting a new computer shortly (likely within the next month). So save all your important files from the one in the PAC room now. It will be returned to Professor Neuhauser soon.
