Minutes from the September 4 2002 PAC meeting
Submitted by Abby Fuller
Welcome to PAC!
If you have ideas of what we should do as a club in the future, please let us know. If you have another email address that you would prefer we use for PAC emails, please email dhaggard@stars.sfsu.edu with the address.
Karon is awesome and amazing, as we know. She got the employee of the month award this last Friday. If you missed the party, go and congratulate her.
Sept 28-29 there is a conference about SETI at Berkeley. More information to follow.
Lab manuals
This is where we make our money. Please help us sell them by being in TH 115 to do your HW for the next two weeks or so.
Ferguson
This Friday! Sign up in the PAC room if you can give someone a ride or if you need a ride. BYO Meat, Fish, Beer, Liquor
Elections
President
Vice-President
Secretary I
Secretary II
Event Coordinator
If you are interested in one of the positions, please email Susan at senglish@stars.sfsu.edu. We will be doing an email ballot soon.
Fundraising
Perhaps we should incorporate this into one of the officer positions.
Events
SLAC – we need at least 15 people to commit to go before we can go.
Bowling – the chemistry club has challenged us to a bowling match. They meet to go bowling the first Friday of each month. This Friday it conflicts with our Ferguson trip, but we might want to go in the future.
Diane’s climb
The HERA foundation is sponsoring a climb to promote research in ovarian cancer. On Sept 21-22, Diane Riley-Cole will be climbing at Mission Cliffs. If you want to support her and/or pledge money for her climb, contact her at dielrico@hotmail.com.
Study sessions
Make study groups for your classes and plan to meet in the PAC room or a lab room.
H-bar
PAC buys food at Rainbow Grocery and sells it at cost in the PAC room for those busy times when you can’t get food elsewhere. Please pay immediately in the red cup. If, on very rare occasions, you can’t pay immediately, please post an IOU on the peg-board next to the refrigerator. Miguel has a power bar replacement that he recommends that he will get to add to our stores. Soon we are also going to have goodwill metal silverware. Feel free to borrow it, but please wash it and return it when you are finished.
Bad news
PAC was robbed this summer, so we are trying hard to make it difficult for someone to rob us again.
New policies:
- When you sell a lab manual, please fill out a receipt.
- When the red cup gets full, please put the money in the cash box.
- Whenever the cash box has a bunch of money or at the end of a day, please put the $10s and $20s in an envelope into Ryn’s drawer in the cabinet by the door in the PAC room. It is locked, but you can slide it through the opening.
- Keep the PAC room locked!!! You have to use your key to lock it. If you need a key, ask Karon in the Physics office.
Thanks for your understanding in this!
