We are a club that is dedicated to student camaraderie, education, science outreach and bringing people together to enjoy the wonders of science.  If you are a Physics or Astronomy major, then you are already a  member.

What we do in Thornton 115:  We study together, we eat together, we hang out together, we are really nerdy together and so much more...

A Note from Lynda Williams, PAC founder

When I first came to SFSU I inquired about a physics club. Then chair, Dr. Jerry Fisher, told me that there had been a SPS (Society of Physics Students) chapter a few years back but nothing was active for a while. So I asked him if I could start a club and he said yes! After talking with some fellow physics students we all decided that we didn't want a membership only "society" but an all inclusive "Club" that would be dedicated to making a more cohesive, friendly and fun environment for the SFSU community. In addition, if we formed the club through associated students, we would get some money, which we could use to sponsor physics related events and trips. Fellow students Elender Wall, Pradeep Ramanathan and Peter Salzman signed up to be the first officers of the club and I was its president. Jerry Fisher was our first faculty sponsor. I told Jerry that in order to make the club fly, we needed a club house and could be please have TH 115 and he reluctantly but generously agreed!!! We held special colloquiums and talks on Fridays (followed by pizza) and took trips to SLAC, Livermore and LICK. And the rest is history!!!!
