Hi! I'm Michelle Krok, a masters student in physics & astronomy at San Francisco State University. My educational and career interests lie in astronomy education. Currently I am working on a thesis under the supervision of Dr. Adrienne Cool (astronomy) and Dr. Kimberly Tanner (science education). My project is to devise several labs in a planetarium setting that utilizes the 5E instructional model to illuminate how what we observe of the heavens from here on Earth relates to the actual motions between the Sun, Earth, Moon, and stars. These labs will be then be evaulated for effectiveness of conceptual change during one semester of astronomy-lab students at SFSU.
One of my main heart-beats in learning how to communicate astronomy effectively is getting to care about others, and hopefully inspire continual questioning and discovery. Besides my life in academia, I love dancing (most styles), gymming, playing the piano when no one is listening, and getting out in nature.

Here I am presenting a museum 'discovery station' that encourages public participation to uncover the real reasons for the seasons.
