Lab Meets in TH 118
06.05.2004 I now have information on the Lab Final. The key points are as follows:
It will be held on 5/18, the last class meeting.
It is a written test. There are no computer or lab practical portions. It asks you very straightforward questions
about the experiments you did. IT IS AN OPEN LAB NOTEBOOK EXAM. Please remember to bring this to
the final.
If you kept a good lab notebook, you will generally just copy the answers out of that. It will be VERY straightforward.
Note: Lab Manuals MAY NOT be used during the final.
Since you can use your lab notebook, you should get it in time to study. This means I plan on grading the calorimetry
lab ASAP, and having them available during office/help session hours on Wednesday 5/12. Come by my office to
pick it up. If not picked up, I will bring the remainder to the final.
Feel free to add notes to it. However, these must be handwritten; NO photocopied pages.
You will have a choice of questions on the final, so you can avoid questions about a lab you missed or you can try to
answer them all. The lowest scored question (including avoided) will be dropped.
31.03.2004 Midterm lab grades sent out today. This represents where you stand as of lab #7 and is 75% of your final lab grade.
The fisrt 3 labs were adjusted as promised and the lowest lab was dropped.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Several people still do not have an SFSU email so I could not send this to you.
You MUST come to Office Hour now to get this information.
IF you are at a C or below you should very seriously consider dropping. See me if you have ANY questions.
15.03.2004 Due to my illness Ms.Susan English will be your lab instructor for tomorrow, 16 March.
NOTE: Both Office Hours and Help Sessions will be cancelled for Wednesday, 17 March.
13.02.2004 Help Sessions to be held in TH116 Wednesdays at 0900 - 1100. Remeber that you can come by my office for Office hour
Tuesdays 0800 - 0900 and Wednesdays 1100 - 1200.
11.02.2004 First Help Session today 0900 - 1000. Still need to confirm room. Come by my office, TH328, and look for announcement.
10.02.2004 Second Lab Meetings. Come prepared with PROPER lab book. See Lab Schedule for information.
03.02.2004 First lab meetings were TODAY. Due to Jury Duty you had “Guest” Instructors for this first class.
