Midterm Report, due Tuesday April 20, 2004

Many scientific papers today are made available to the scientific community by posting them at a preprint site.

As a first example look at "A Search for Solar Hadronic Axions Using 83Kr" (http://arxiv.org/PS_cache/nucl-ex/pdf/0402/0402016.pdf).  The format and division into sections is exactly what we want for the project lab report.  The only flaw is not having any diagrams or figures.

Another example with good use of figures is "An inclusive measurement of the photon energy spectrum in b -> sg decays" (http://arxiv.org/PS_cache/hep-ex/pdf/0403/0403004.pdf_).  But note the number of authors!!!

Both of these papers were found on the SLAC Spires data base.  You should go there (http://arxiv.org/PS_cache/hep-ex/pdf/0403/0403004.pdf) and have a look around.

Please prepare your report in Microsoft Word .doc format.  We will put it into .pdf format later, and post it on the web in our own preprint library.
