A new state-of-the-art projector
In its time, the Spitz 512 projector was state-of-the-art. But it is now more than 40 years old, and won't last forever. We are embarking on a campaign to raise funds for a new opto-mechanical projector that will provide the beautiful and realistic night sky that our planetarium has long been known for and makes it unique in San Francisco. The new system will integrate video projection to replace obsolete slide projectors, vastly broadenening the range of programming we can provide. With this new state-of-the-art projector we will expand and extend a proud legacy at SFSU.
