MatLab Tutorial for the Physics and Astronomy Department

This is a short tutorial-style introduction to using MatLab on the Department system.
Beginners: here are the basics

Converting Graphics to GIF format: When you have a graph on the screen and you want to make a .gif file (to put on the Web, for example), follow this procedure:

• enter

  	>> print -djpeg myimage
  

  from the keyboard. A file named myimage.jpg will be written, on your stars home directory.
• Find the file, and copy it to the WEB directory where you want to display it. The .html command to put it up is

  	{img src = "myimage.jpg">
