Getting a Physics & Astronomy Department Computer Account
The Physics and Astronomy Department maintains a system of computers,
available to students, faculty and alumni of the Department.
Any SFSU physics major may request an account on the P&A Department
computer system. The request should be made through a faculty member,
or directly at the Department office (TH 334).
When the account is approved, the password must be picked up in
person at the Department office (TH 334), where the user will be
familarized with rules and responsibilities associated with the
account. At this time the user should obtain a personal code for the
computer room (TH 123), and may also request the password for web
access from off campus.
Faculty and staff may request accounts directly from the system manager, Alan Der.
Additionally, an account on the University system,
offering free ISP service over a modem,
can be
requested over the net, or in person at Old Adm 104.
