Printing from a Macintosh
Here's an illustrated testimonial to configuring a Macintosh OS/X to print to hp_1 in TH123.

Select System Prefs -> Hardware -> "Print & Fax"

Click on "Set Up Printers...":
(If the padlock at the lower left is closed,
you'll have to click on it first to enter an Administrator's password.)

A dialog box pops up entitled "Printer List".
Click the add icon at the top:

Enter the values as shown.

Click the "Add" button at the bottom to complete the configuration.
So essentially the Mac will use Internet Protocol to send a network print
request using the Unix LPD (Line Printer Daemon) / LPR (Line Printer utility)
protocol to th123-13.sfsu.edu (IP address 130.212.16.85).
The data will be formatted for a HP Laserjet 4000.
This works even from off campus.
